Start out as you mean to go.
Which means overcomer…
Do first things first.
Not second.
Not last.
Why?
Because order is important.
Look around. Nature proclaims order. The divine sequence of GOD is stamped throughout it. (Psalm 19:1-6).
And having a ‘first things first’ approach brings much fruit.
For example…
The principle of first fruits.
The Law of First Mention.
The first shall be last.
Which all means.
First…
Get up.
Go to prayer.
Yet how?
Or more specifically why start prayer in the morning?
Well,
We start in the morning because it’s the foundation upon which the entire day rests.
Therefore it becomes clear...
Weakness in morning prayer affects the whole fabric and structure of a busy saints day. Then later when trouble comes the day begins to fall apart.
Jesus confirms this divine principle too in Matthew 7:25-27…
The house built on the rock stands.
The sandy built house is ruined.
Storms are coming… to both.
So who can stand fast through them?
The one who knows how to pray in order.
Therefore,
These two lines of prayer below give an unbreakable foundation.
Which is why I pray them first before any other prayers.
First is the order of the day.
And it’s simply,
The covenant between GOD and you.
The covenant GOD Almighty made with you in the body and blood of His son Jesus Christ. (Luke 22:20).
Many years ago I discovered the covenant is an excellent way to enter into GOD’s presence each morning.
Anyhow.
Here’s how you pray it…
“Father in the Name of Jesus Christ I humble myself under your mighty hand and I ask that in your mercy you would meet with me now on the basis of the New Covenant—The covenant you’ve made with me ratified* in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ your son.
Please draw near to me now on that basis in Jesus Christ’s name.
Amen.”
It’s as simple as that. Easy eh?
Powerful though because,
As you can see…
We don’t appeal to meet with GOD on the basis of our righteousness.
No.
Instead we do the opposite.
We humbly request to meet with God the Almighty.
The High and Lofty One, on the basis of the righteousness of His son... (not ours, which is as Isaiah puts it, ‘filthy rags’ Isaiah 64.6)
Jesus’ righteousness is our way in…
“Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
Hebrews 1:9 KJV
And as we do so we discover…
Our day goes well, or even if it doesn’t… we still find we have deep reserves of power—to CONQUER what life may hurl at us. For the same 'Oil of gladness' that lit up Jesus with joy… we find, powers our day too.
Finally,
What does Paul say?
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
I Corinthians 14:40 KJV
And who can argue with him?
Bless you early riser.
Dave.

Happy to hear from an overcomer!
