Hi overcomer.
As you know full well…
“The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”
Proverbs 4:18 NKJV
Except a few times along the way when it feels like it doesn’t.
And as one mature believer to another…
Many a time it turns out… the sun dips away. Darkness swallows our happy vision.
Having said that, you must keep going no matter what.
Even if facing hellish trials or stubborn difficulties.
For as the quote (wrongly attributed to Winston Churchill) rightly observed…
“When you are going through hell, keep going!”
If that’s you saint, then be assured,
Simple patient trust will see you safely to shore. And from there, on up to plump sunny pastures green you’ll certainly pass.
Certainly because, the LORD promised He will never fail nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5 KJV).
If you keep ever before your eyes this golden key…
That.
He who chose you is PERFECT.
Perfectly chose you that is. (Ephesians 1:4).
Deliberately. Carefully. With tender, loving joy.
And He’s also perfecting you… forever.
Sorry.
Past tense.
YOU—Done perfect already.
Your past, present—future.
“For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”
Hebrews 10:14 ESV
Amazing eh :)
Further to this,
In the same way He took away all your sins from before you were even born,
So he also took care of any and all your lifestyle botch ups too…
Tantrums.
Wrongs turns.
Wilderness wanderings.
Because simply put…
The LORD knows the way you must go.
Even (and especially) when perplexity confusion or fear seize you along life’s way.
Yes it’s tough, yet in such times you must walk by faith. Blind faith, which is pure.
Because,
YOU ARE STILL BEING LED BY GOD.
“I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known.
I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight.
These things I will do for them,
And not forsake them.”
Isaiah 42:16 NKJV
So saint,
Work summons you to complete it’s BIG task.
Push forward. Even if you feel blind. Then divine appointments can appear.
Just as in this almost ‘impossible’ meeting below.
One searingly hot summer…
I flew an Islamic country.
Sure enough as I squeezed into my seat in the crammed aero-plane a chattering sea of Muslim passengers bobbed around me.
And so,
Settling down, I said a cordial hello to those seated either side.
Next though,
I asked the chap on my left…
“I’m Dave, nice to meet you. What’s your name?”
To which he replied…
“My name is Haim.”
Yikes I thought.
For of course you and I know… Haim is a Jews name.
A name meaning life. And as destiny was carrying us into a country alarming to most Jews…
I asked what the heck he was doing flying to it!
He said he was only jumping a connecting flight from there out to China but yes I was right…
It was tricky and he needed to keep a low profile.
And so there overcomer.
You have it.
Another blistering ‘Divine Appointment’ opens before our eyes again.
Because it turns out this Jew (whose Israeli tourist business was horse trekking in Negev btw) yearned to hear about the Messiah of Israel!
For the very night before our flight out in his backyard, the starry Sinai desert, Haim was reading Daniel in the Prophets (The ‘Nevi'im’ - נְבִיאִים)
Yet confessed it had frustrated him no end. He had way more questions than answers.
So.
To help his quizzical nature…
Beginning right there, in the book of Daniel we dug deep into my little pocket bible.
And glory to GOD, Haims eyes opening ever wider by the minute…
He saw it all!
That wow! Jesus was the Messiah of Israel.
LORD of heaven. King over all the earth.
And most dread judge of all too.
“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened.
And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”
Revelation 20:12 NKJV
I tell you saint.
What a Bible study we had!
Our four hours together on that aero-plane, passed as if thirty minutes.
Then zap, the crowd carried me away to show my passport.
And Haim was torn from me by a different path.
And so,
Today as I write to you I hope he and his loved ones are alive.
Because the starry south where he lived was overrun by the devils savagery on October 7 2023.
However…
If Haim didn’t make it. If he was cut down or suffering unimaginable horror.
I hope to see him in heaven one day soon.
For he believed and so do I.
So do you overcomer.
Therefore.
Do the work of an evangelist.
For there are those who need you to keep the faith.
You are their answer to prayer though they barely can even whisper a prayer and just look up into a deeply black starry sky.
Wondering…
“Will anyone help me?”
Yes they will.
You.
“A man’s steps are directed by the Lord; how then can anyone understand his own way?”
Proverbs 20:24 ISV
Bless you.
Dave.
Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (ESV)
Such an encouraging piece, thank you Dave! God bless you.
